The animation shows representations of biological processes from both extracellular and intracellular perspectives. From the extracellular perspective, the animation represents a leukocyte cell rolling on the walls of a blood vessel and extravasating from the bloodstream. From the intracellular perspective, the animation represents the internal organization of the cell, membrane structure and dynamics, cytoskeletal and motor protein behavior, and protein translation.
